Steeped in the visceral full-fledged guitar attack of bands Big Black, the Pixies, Nation of Ulysses, and Shellac, Canadian post-punk/hardcore outfit METZ earn the capitalization of their moniker through sheer volume. The Toronto-based trio, which consists of Alex Edkins, Hayden Menzies, and Chris Slorach, shared the stage with acts like Mission of Burma, Mudhoney, and Death from Above 1979 before inking a deal with Sub Pop, which released the group's eponymous debut album in 2012.
