Like most successful double albums, over time favorites change and new surprises reveal themselves. However, there’s an immutable brilliance to the sexually ambiguous “If I Was Your Girlfriend,” an admirable symmetry to the sprite and energetic keyboard pop of “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” and an ageless soulfulness to “Adore” and “Slow Love” that provide the deep thoughts while “Housequake” and “It’s Gonna Be A Beautiful Night” take care of the dancefloor.
