New Zealand pop singer Kimbra is a soulful vocalist with a bent toward jazzy R&B and indie rock-influenced dance music. Born Kimbra Johnson in Hamilton, New Zealand, Kimbra first began taking guitar lessons around age 12 and was performing live by her teens.
