[iTunes Plus AAC M4A] Yes - Close to the Edge (Bonus Track Version) [Remastered]

Close to the Edge remains one of the definitive progressive rock albums of the ‘70s. Featuring the side-length title cut, the album defined the ambitions and the excesses of the era with brilliant playing, inspired performances, and unusual approaches to a rock music that was merging with something beyond psychedelia but not quite classical. Drummer Bill Bruford would leave after the album's completion, but not before adding some tough time signature challenges that when combined with bassist Chris Squire's constantly searching bass lines create the uncoiling of a very lethal snake. The original album featured just three cuts. The ten-minute epic "And You And I" features some of guitarist Steve Howe's most inspired playing, while the modest in comparison "Siberian Khatru" similarly shows off the band's perfectionism.
