For indie rock trio Colony House, playing music, quite literally, runs in the family. Brothers Caleb and Will Chapman are the sons of country-Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman who’s known almost as well for his spirit of charity as he is for his jangle, religious tunes. The Chapman patriarch must have been feeling especially charitable when he decided to ease his progenys' transition into the record industry. Their debut album, When I Was Younger, tumbles into an indie rock purgatory of aimless, lighter-than-air guitars, repetitive songwriting, and “atmospheric” touches in post-production that trap Colony House in neutral. “Roll With The Punches” plays like a doting, after school TV special from the early 90's.
